BIOGRAPHY

Akash Muralidharan is a 20 year old film composer based in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, specializing in crafting cinematic scores. His journey into music began at a young age on an arranger keyboard, eventually evolving into a deep fascination with cinematic storytelling and the psychological impact of sound.

Recognizing early on that the traditional academic path did not resonate with his creative drive, Akash made music his singular focus. He bypassed conventional schooling to fully immerse himself in music, treating film scoring not just as an art form, but as an architectural discipline that requires both structure and raw emotion. Today, his primary focus is writing music that reveals subtext, emotional depth and physical enhancement.

Akash’s signature sound is defined by shifting rhythms, ambient soundscapes, and highly specific, story-driven instrumentation. His sonic palette shifts based on the film's exact emotional needs ranging from the fragile warmth of a dampened piano to the raw power of cinematic brass. By blending ambient textures with region-specific instrumentation, he ensures every score physically breathes within the exact location of the narrative.

THE APPROACH

Akash approaches film scoring through meticulous narrative analysis, first marking visual scenes into distinct blocks based on three core functions: emotional psychology, revealing subtext, and physical enhancement. He conducts a deep analysis of the film's emotional trajectory, carefully logging dialogue and sound effects to spot exactly where music is or isn't required. After collaborating with the filmmaker to lock in these cues, the composition process begins organically at the piano. Here, he experiments with pitch, rhythm, harmony, melody, texture, timbre, and dynamics to find the perfect psychological match for the film. By building the score from this raw foundation rather than preset templates, the final orchestration grows naturally to immerse the audience completely in the story.
